Introduction. The purpose of this optical workshop is to make three 15-cms mirrors which the group members can carry home and the secondary mirror for the Schmidt camera with 40 cm primary mirror and getting to know the bases of optics. With a little will and persistence very quality mirrors can be made. The Visnjan Observatory will help the group members with aluminising the mirrors. The mirrors will be send with the secondary mirror in Venice to be aluminised. |

Conclusion. After making the primary mirror for the Newton telescope, there should be made the secondary mirror, the construction (probably it would be made of wood) and oculars should be bought. If we wanted to make a Casserain construction, we should make a hole in the primary mirror, but that should be done before sharping. As any of us have never had a telescope, this may be a bit primitive, but will be a very good experience for our future projects. |
