Limski kanal excursion

Group photo, with Limski kanal in the background

As a break from everyday work on projects, one day was reserved for field-trip to Limski kanal. Starting point was village Klostar, well known for nearby Benedictine monastery of St Michael. The group first set to take some panorama images, but after nearly hour long brave cutting our way through mediterrainean makia, ended up having also snapshots of prehistoric cave. Macetas came in quite handy!

On the way to the cave ...

After the more adventurous part of the trip, we set down to sea shore, where those with swimming suits (and some without ;) took the opportunity to take a swim. Apart from being a lonely beach, without the usual tourist fuss, it is also the beach with loads of oysters.

Heading west on the bike road to Vrsar, next stop was foot of the hill just above Lumbardo's cave. This, once pirate cave, is now tourist attraction, and just above it, there are remains of prehistoric forts, called gradina in Croatian. The group climbed both 121.6 m high hill Mukaba, and a lower hill just in front of it.

Walk along bike road to the Vrsar airport

After conquiring both hills, we set to final stage of the trip, a casual walk to the Vrsar airport, 7 km from the starting point. There transportation patiently waited for everyone to arrive, and get them back to Visnjan to dinner :) .
