Marko Kosicek (S3++ organiser)
Rudjer Boskovic Institute, Zagreb, Croatia

Marko holds a diploma in chemistry from Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, Croatia. Currently he is doing his PhD at the Division of Molecular Medicine, Rudjer Boskovic Institute, Zagreb. He works on molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer disease, investigates the role of cholesterol and other lipids in Alzheimer’s disease. Marko is interested in biochemistry and neuroscience as well as science communication. Marko was group leader at S3 in 2007 and 2008.



Fran Supek (S3++ organiser)
Rudjer Boskovic Institute, Zagreb, Croatia

Fran is a molecular biologist, and currently works on his PhD in the Department of Electronics at the Rudjer Boskovic Institute (Croatia). His main field of study are novel applications of artificial intelligence methods to genomics, proteomics and anticancer drug discovery. In the living world, Fran is fascinated by the extremophile bacteria; he also enjoys programming in Java, and taking walks through the Random Forest. In 2007, Fran led a group in S3++ where students designed their own drug molecules on a computer.
