Food and accomodation

Participants sleep in very modest multi-bed rooms, in a dormitory near the observatory. The dormitory also has a kitchen, where the breakfast is prepared each morning by the participants themselves. Lunch and dinner are taken in a nearby restaurant.

In case you are a vegetarian, make sure you notify the school organizers in advance.

A typical day

Depending on the project, you will either stay in the village or go to do terrain work. Beside lectures or workshops which are held in the evening, group work is directed by a project leader. It usually starts at 9 AM and finishes at 6 PM. Most of the work will be done during the day, but night field trips or lab visits are not excluded. Apart from the excursion day do not expect too much free time.

What to bring?

Bring warm clothes for possible work during the night. Hiking shoes and sunscreen are good to take for the field trip. Mosquito repelent and a sleeping bag might come handy as well. Clean sheets are provided, but you should bring your own towels. The washing machine will not be available. Some participants also like to bring their own calculators, digital cameras and laptops.

If you have a medical condition (like allergies, etc), make sure you bring enough medication and notify the organizers.
