Science Overview
Visnjan Observatory projects
have two goals: do science
research and develop
educational methodology. We
consider both aspects of our
work equally important. The
main research topic at Visnjan
Observatory is the study of the
small bodies of the Solar
System. So far, we have
discovered more than 1400
asteroids. Besides looking for
new objects, we also keep track of known bodies
and contribute in determining their orbits. Other
technical research areas include telescope
construction, automatization technology, data
analysis, and storage software. As we have
mentioned before, we have dedicated part of our
program to educators. Visnjan helps train science
teachers, and together, we work on new classroom
techniques that create a fun and stimulative learning
environment. |
